Cakewalk Sonar 7
Why You Should Consider
Sonar |
|
Sonar provides a good balance between functionality and price. In our DAW Shootout it ranks only slightly below Cubase in the Functional Ratings but has a significantly better Value Ratio because of its lower price. For the last 5 versions, Sonar has consistently released a major upgrade on an annual basis and always adds features that reflect the current pulse of the pro audio market. Major enhancements over that period have included Step Sequencing, Audio Grooves, Mastering Plug-ins, Surround Mixing, and Active Controller Technology. Sonar typically includes a wealth of plug-ins such as the Roland V-Vocal Processor, Session Drummer, Rapture LE, Dimension LE, Sonitus:fx. Sonar has always been Windows-centric and is architected to take advantage of Vista and DirectX technologies.
