Timestretching

In this comparison we use several products to stretch a drum loop from 110 bpm to 130 bpm. All timestretching is real time except Pro Tools Beat Detective. In all cases slicing parameters were adjusted to produce the best automated slicing. However, individual hitpoints were not edited. To see the larger view of each plug-in, click on the thumbnail.
   
Audition Timestretching
This clip was created using the real-time timestretching features in Audition 2.

 
Sonar Loop Construction
Sonar uses the Loop Construction View to create loop properties for real-time timestretching.
   
 
Pro Tools Beat Detective
Pro Tools does not provide real-time timestretching. However, because of its popularity, this example was created using the Beat Detective.
 
FL Studio BeatSlicer
FL Studio automatically creates time slices for imported audio files with its BeatSlicer.
   
 
Acid Pro Timestretching
This clip was created using the real-time timestretching facilities in Acid Pro 5.

 
Cubase Audio Warp
Cubase SX uses the Audio Warp function to create real-time timestretching properties.
