In these examples we take a mix and apply several different multiband dynamics processors as part of the mastering process. While because of the architecture of the dynamics processors, it is not possible to create totally compatible settings, all processors are configured to use 3 bands with similar parameters. GarageBand Multiband Compressor

GarageBand includes the 4-band Apple Multiband Compressor.

Sonar Sonitus:fx Multiband Dynamics

The Sonitus:fx Multiband Dynamics is a combination compressor/limiter with 5 bands.

Ozone Multiband Dynamics

Ozone 3 is an integrated set of mastering tools which includes a 4-band dynamics processor.

PSP Vintage Warmer

While the PSP Vintage Warmer has received a number of good reviews, it takes a decidedly different approach modeled more on classic tape style processing. Speeds, for example, control attack and release speeds, but the settings are in terms of tape speed, not milliseconds. This plug-in is a three-band compressor, but many of the settings are common to all three bands.

Sound Forge Multiband Dynamics

Sound Forge includes a 4-band multiband dynamics processor.

Cubase Multiband Compressor

Cubase 4 includes a 4-band multiband compressor. The parameters are fairly standard and the release settings can be automatic.

Waves Phase Linear Multiband

The Waves Phase Linear Multiband is a 5-band dynamics processor. Compression pararmeters are expressed in terms of ranges rather than thresholds and compression ratios, but the net result is the same.
