Thank you for choosing Chord Flash Cards. This app is designed to help you improve your chops on a guitar or keyboard by randomly generating chord symbols, waiting for you to play the chord, and then displaying the chord on either a guitar fretboard or keyboard. In random mode one of the 12 scale keys is selected as well as one of 25 chords that can be created from a combination of Chord Type (Major, Minor, etc.) and Extension (6th, Dominant 7, 9th, etc.) as shown in this table: |

The probability of each of these 300 chords being generated randomly is not equal but is tailored to the chords that you are most likely to need to play. Four levels of expertise are provided from beginner to expert. To see the probabilities of what keys and chords are generated at each level, go to the Setup page, and select each level. |

The best way to use the Chord Flash Cards is Auto Random Update mode which continuously generates chord symbols and then answers. You can control the wait time between how often chord symbols are generated as well as the wait time between the chord symbol being displayed and the answer presented. You can also generate a single chord randomly or enter a chord symbol and have the answer displayed. |
