Troubleshooting
The application does not start
automatically: Open
your browser. Navigate to your CD-rom drive and select ACID_MAIN_MENU.html.
Click on Open.
I clicked on the main menu but
nothing happens: Turn
off your popup blocker. If you have Windows XP SP2, in Internet
Explorer click on Tools>Popup Blocker. You may also need
to go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Security
and check Allow Active Content from CDs to Run on My Computer
as well as Allow Active Content in Files to Run on My Computer.
A browser screen comes up but
all I see is a black screen: Just
wait a minute. The application has detected that you do not
have Flash Player and is installing it for you.
I waited for awhile but I still
see a black screen: If
you do not see a moving audio waveform at the top of this
screen, you do not have Flash installed. Try installing Flash
Player manually. Go to the Macromedia
Download Center and follow the instructions there.
The tutorial starts
but it crashes or hangs before it finishes: Not
enough memory. If your system meets the minimum memory
requirements, try closing all other applications and restarting
the tutorial.
Project Examples
Third Party Software: Some of the example projects may use third-party software which is not included. You can usually find demo versions of this software at the websites of the companies that produce the software.
MIDI Instrument Definitions: MIDI instrument definitions for external synthesizers are specific to an individual user environment. Thus the MIDI instrument definitions contained in the project examples may need to be adjusted to match your environment.
